Used Gun Stores in Wilmington, NC

3 of the 17 gun stores and hunting shops we list in Wilmington have used guns.

A map listing shows a store's category and hours, not whether its shelves include trade-ins and consignment pieces alongside new stock — that detail either shows up buried in a random review or not at all. Every store here has used guns confirmed from its own website or current inventory listing, not inferred from one customer mentioning a used rack.

Bring a valid photo ID and expect the same background check as buying new. Inspect a used gun's bore, action, and finish in person before buying, and ask the shop to let you field-strip and function-check it, since return policies on used firearms are often more limited than on new ones.

Good to know

Do gun stores buy used guns?

Many do, either buying outright, taking trade-ins toward a new purchase, or selling on consignment for a cut of the sale price. Policies vary a lot by shop, so it's worth calling ahead to ask how they handle appraisals and payment.

Is it safe to buy a used gun from a store?

Buying from a licensed dealer is generally safer than a private sale, since the store runs the same background check as a new purchase and often inspects the gun before putting it on the shelf. It's still worth asking about the gun's history and testing the action yourself before you commit.
